################################################## HINTS ----- last modified: Thu Feb 27 21:09:39 GMT 1997 @beast ################################################## 1) If you've got problems with wrong EOL bytes in your text files try 'unzip -a zipfilename'. The EOL bytes (CR,LF) will be automatically adapted. (If there's no zipped file yet, generate one with 'zip archivename textfilename' or 'pkzip archivename textfilename'.) This works for files containing uuencoded parts also! 2) Use 'uudecode textfilename' to extract uuencoded binaries. This should work properly if the textfile format is that of your machine. Otherwise, see 1)! :) 3) If you don't have the DOS uudecode.com and no other decoder works, copy the package uucoddos.zip. 4) You're downloading a *.gz file and the server causes a decompressing? Type manually '.gz' in the download box and you'll probably receive the original (compressed) file. 5) If you want to download files like *.exe or *.txt with Netscape, use your right mouse button and select "Save link as ..." (or left button with the shift key pressed) instead of the usual click. x) If there are still any problems bothering you, feel free to call solyga@tetibm2.ee.tu-berlin.de.
